I teach a 2 hour self defense workshop based in Kung Fu, Escrima and Mixed Martial Arts. These styles are developed for smaller bodied individuals but the workshop serves people of all sizes and genders. This course does not promote violence, it is aimed at preventing, stopping and escaping it. The goal is to teach real-world strategies, simple physical techniques and explain easily available tools to defend yourself or escape a physical confrontation. To give you an idea of what the workshop covers here is a break down by 30 min quarters:
BREAK DOWN
-Opening discussion about self defense and safety
-How to stand, move, and defend yourself with your hands with out hurting them
-How to deter/escape if someone grabs you from the front or from behind
-What to do if your fight goes to the ground and a discussion on self defense tools
